Well, Jen and I have been swamped at work this summer with both of our bosses with serious health issues, but we put our feet down and took a long weekend trip to Oklahoma. We rented a cabin that required 4 wheel drive to get to. It was a little "hairy" in the 4Runner, but when I found the limited slip differnetial button for the rear tires...helped big time. However, one morning we woke up to rain and I was sweating bullets we might be locked in at the cabin.....and the auto bilge wasn't working on the crownline....left boat at shore.....didn't tell Jen that one..... Well anyway waited for sun to come out and got up speed and made it down the mountain.
My Oklahoma buddies talked about how we were going to burn up in the heat....yea...105 at Broken Bow is a piece of cake compared to Houston 100 and the mornings were to die for....72-74 degrees without humidity. Jen actually got chilled.
The fishing was great this year and the lake was beautiful...not much wind and very few boats and The lake was only down 8 feet. Oh yea...love the no ethanol gas guys. 4Runner and boat ran much better. Thought you would like a few pics so here they are . . . . we really roughed it. :) Larry
PS: The large house boat in the second set of pics..NO LIMIT...well I guess there is a limit. It is for sale or any trades considered.....largest house boat I have ever seen. At least 35 feet wide and have no idea on length.
