I need a replacement engine for my Mark Twain project. I have a 1968 and a 1972 16' inboard merc cruiser inboard. I'm needing an engine for the 1968. Will be robbing parts off the '72 to complete and make it whole again. Also, any suggestions or wisdom on prepping and painting a fiberglass boat would be greatly appreciated.
This one is in North east Texas, it's a ways from you, no title but the motor, drive and trailer are worth the asking price. You could probably sell the trailer and recover your gas and sell the drive and recover all your expenses then dump the boat. I don't no this person, just saw the ad.
Thanks for the info. BTW - The hull on one of these is really rough with tiny cracks all over the hull bottom. I'm thinking it probably isn't possible to paint this and make her usable again. Any thoughts? Thx!
If you don't have any luck finding one, I've got a good 140 Mercruiser w/complete outdrive, in a mid to late 70's Galaxy boat. I can sell you the boat, motor, and trailer for about what you'll pay for a motor and drive (or less). Then you can sell the tandem trailer and get a big part of you're money back if you want, or keep the trailer for one of your boats. Just let me know. I'm in Oklahoma. Tom 405-255-1602.
