I think you have to bite it and buy it I've seen one on carlson like mine Don't like the look but makes a lot of difference sitting in the middle of the lake When my lake is full I can find a cove with a tree Right now the top would help. 90+, 20 days before June in Texas Just my tought
You will not regret getting a bimini Glenn. I got mine from ebay. Here's a listing or you can type in sunbrella, or bimini top. He tells how to measure it in there.
Ebay sounds good. My local shop can get one for 102 beam 225 frame 255 top + ship. and the I would have to get it to you. Bet you'll find alot better price on ebay or order from a shop in your place. You can still cruise with it down. They set up in a minute. Great when your just floating in a full summer sun.
Glen, the one I have, North Texas Marine installed. I can look and see if it has some sort of part number since we have the same boat. I like mine with the exception that it has plastic mounting ends instead of the stainless. I figure if mine ever break that I'll just change out the ends. Some of them look different and sometimes they just don't look "natural" on the boat. In other words, someone made them fit. Mine seems to be the right height and the right slant front to back. Get one though! you wont regret it!
Glen, try boatcoversdirect.com. they even tell you how to measure for them on there. I can measure mine if you going to order one because like I said, I've seen them too tall and too short. I like the height of mine. seems like North TX Marine might have them made in Dallas. I'll check tonight.
Okay, I give in. To measure for a bimini you need the following:
1) Desired height of top.
2) Desired length of top.
3) Mounting width.
4) Desired layout width. ie How wide the top is in the down position & where's it gonna lie on the gunwhale. (Can be wider than mounting width but usually equal to or narrower.)
5) Mounting height. ie How far the top mounts from the floor.
Given those dimensions any bimini builder worth his salt should be able to supply you with a top.
I get $450 for a 3 bow up to 80" in length. $550 for a 4 bow up to 120". Sunbrella material, Tenara (Gore Tex) thread, zip on storage boot, 4 HD straps, snaps, buckles & all mounting hdwe included.
Hope that gives you some perspective as to whatcha might pay for a quality top. Of course you can always get a one size fits all from Overtons or whoever. But they're pieces of crap & they fit like this:
