CV23 engine hatch

Florida Fiberglass Works is working on a design for a one piece fiberglass hatch for the CV23. No more rot and no drips on the engine.

I would like to hear from owners if anyone is interested in one of these and also some suggestions for tweaking the design.
My boat was missing everthing but the hinges riveted to the transom so I am going by info provided by others. If it is correct the hatches were 2 piece 3/4 inch plywood with foam and vinyl stapled on. They were angled at the aft end to fit the profile of the raised portion of the transom deck.
The new design would require new cushions that could be held in place with velcro or ? and we are thinking that the aft end would be straight instead of following the angled point of the transom deck. This would allow for hinges on either side of the hatch and to allow for more support. This would leave holes exposed where the aft most hinges were but I have seen someone that covered them with non-skid strips or teak strips so its not a big job to cover.
If you have any ideas or suggestions please post here or email me (captoso@yahoo.com) or Wayne Willis at Florida Fiberglass Works (trackskinz@gmail.com)
Also since the CGOA site has shut down if you have contact with owners from that site please forward this.
Thanks,
Jim
