Pondtunes?

Pondtunes, I have question on wiring subs? Parallel or series? I can't remember which way is the way to go for more power to drop a 4ohm down to 2 on a 2 ohm stable amp, and what is the wiring ++ -- or +- -+
Thanks, Glennconfused

Parallel wiring will half the ohm load
Series will double it.

so (2) 4 ohm subs in parallel will yield a 2 ohm load. ++ -- pos to pos and neg to neg
and (2) 4 ohm subs in series will yield a 8 ohm load. +- +-

You could also combine your amplifiers channels for more power @ 2 ohms by using left positive and right negative off of one channel. Ie if you have a 4 channel amp use channel 1/2 for the sub bridged (left pos/right neg) and the entire +- +- off of channel 3/4 for the normal speakers.
